Job Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Accountable for the overall site performance in the areas of recruitment, retention, employment satisfaction, talent management, performance management and leadership development. 
  • Consulting on a broad range of people issues, including employee relations, leadership development, recruitment, compensation, organizational design and inclusion.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day management of all aspects of the HR operation to ensure smooth delivery of HR services in the country.
  • Working with partners to ensure HR practices that are currently embedded in the businesses (e.g. payroll, onboarding, expatriate processing etc.) are reviewed and drive appropriate change processes.
  • Engaging with business leaders to devise workforce and succession plans and to identify and develop talent across the businesses.
  • Be a champion of HR process improvement.  Analyze processes, data and trends to make recommendations and plan for continuous improvement.  Ensure appropriate controls are in place and managed effectively for all critical HR processes.
  • Manage a team of HR professionals with particular focus on professional development and growth.
  • Develop and implement proactive recruitment and internal mobility strategies to identify and attract a diverse and highly qualified pool of candidates.
  • Partner with Training & Development to comply with performance management & talent review processes and identify and delivery the training strategy for the businesses.
  • Partner with business leaders and the global compensation function to execute market competitive compensation plans (salary, annual, and non-annual).
  • Partner with colleagues in Employee Relations, HR Service Delivery, EAP, Disability Management, AccessHR, etc. to deliver the highest quality advice and information to our clients.
  • With Local Management Committee of the GSC monitor key people metrics, aligned with business goals.  
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key clients, stakeholders and HR colleagues to enhance communication flow within the broader GSC HR team.
  • Facilitate change and seize opportunities to introduce improvements to current practices and procedures taking into account, where appropriate, different LOB operating philosophies.
  • Look for opportunities to align individual Line of Business structures and HR objectives, bearing in mind differences
  • Work with the various businesses to identify and resolve market driven issues including retention.
  • Responsible for ensuring that each LOB is in compliance with local regulations and Labor Standard Laws.
  • Counsel and advise managers and employees on cross-border HR related matters.

Job Requirements

Specific Qualifications include:

  • HR professional with 10+ years experience with a large global organization and proven expertise with developing business-aligned people agendas for a large complex location with 5,000 – 10,000 employees.   
  • Ability to navigate a global matrix organization and partner on issues across HR and the business.
  • Proven ability to deal with different management styles while remaining proactive and flexible.
  • Previous experience of managing culturally diverse HR teams and flexibility to work with colleagues in different time zones.
  • Proven ability to influence key business leaders to drive change initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and provide practical solutions in a fast-paced and budget-challenged environment.
  • Creative thinker and problem solver, able to manage multiple projects, understand business P&L and drive execution
  • Good knowledge of legal framework and ER issues and must have a strong understanding of the regulatory environment and employment practices.  
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral presentations)
  • Strong consulting and influencing skills, must be able to push back at all levels
  • Ability to work collaboratively a track record of developing strong, positive working relationships.
  • Proven track record in objectively coaching employees and management through complex, difficult issues and mitigating risks. 
  • Exceptional judgment, demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and be creative in developing alternative solutions in a fast paced environment. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while remaining proactive and flexible in style.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and technical skills that enable individual to leverage data to create HR strategies that support and drive business results.
  • Excellent consulting, influencing, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle large amounts of confidential/sensitive information on a frequent basis.
